Not a screaming deal, but $30 cheaper than Amazon. I’ve been following this unit and the price doesn’t go down much. Note you have to purchase and install hard drives separately.

Excellent reviews on the net but pricier than the D-Links / ReadyNas units.

People tell us all that time that they’re getting more and more mail and often feel overwhelmed by it all. We know what you mean—here at Google we run on email. Our inboxes are slammed with hundreds, sometimes thousands of messages a day—mail from colleagues, from lists, about appointments and automated mail that’s often not important. It’s time-consuming to figure out what needs to be read and what needs a reply. Today, we’re happy to introduce

This week, a lot.

Today we’re excited to announce the band Arcade Fire’s new project “The Wilderness Downtown,” an interactive HTML5 music experience that is being showcased on Google’s Chrome Experiments site. The project was created by writer/director Chris Milk with Arcade Fire and Google.

We put everything except the proverbial kitchen sink into this project: It features HTML5 audio, video, and canvas, animated windows with JavaScript controllers, mash-ups with Google Maps…

The Domineering Castle?:

One thing I knew going into the Disneyland trip was that Sleeping Beauty Castle is weak looking. Short and stout, it lacks the grandeur and visual dominance of Cinderella Castle. After seeing it in person I was even more disappointed (I hate when people raise the question “Would Walt Do?” when confronted with something they don’t like about the contemporary parks, but I have to wonder whether he would have had this castle razed for something more ‘epic’ upon the completion of WDW, were he alive).
Anyway, given the stature of Sleeping Beauty Castle, one of my goals was to utilize the UWA lens to make it seem more grand. I thought this shot did a decent job of that…even though I almost fell into the moat due to leaning over that railing so far!

Gmail voice and video chat makes it easy to stay in touch with friends and family using your computer’s microphone and speakers. But until now, this required both people to be at their computers, signed into Gmail at the same time. Given that most of us don’t spend all day in front of our computers, we thought, “wouldn’t it be nice if you could call people directly on their phones?”

Starting today, you can call any phone right from Gmail.

I rarely use the native email clients from Android and iPhone. Gmail’s mobile web app has a better interface and it’s easier to use than those applications, but there are some limitations that force you to switch to the native apps: you can’t attach files and there’s no support for notifications. Until mobile browsers add support for these features and integrate with the operating system, native apps will continue to be more powerful.

The latest version of Google Mobile App for iPhone solves…
